Ms. Stacie is the lead teacher in the State Preschool Program (Butterflies) as well as our back up Site Supervisor. Her “passion is to teach young children something new so they will become future leaders.” She has been working in the childcare field for over 15 years and has been with Fun Ship since June 2015. Ms. Martha is the lead teacher in the Caterpillar room and holds an Associate Teacher Permit from the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Her primary responsibility is with the three year olds but she oversees the workings of the entire classroom to make sure that everyone is learning and progressing.
Before she came to Fun Ship in early 2016, she was at another preschool in Harbor City for 20 years where she was the head teacher for the entire school. When that school closed down, Fun Ship was lucky to get her! She is a wonderful teacher and has a kind, calming demeanor which children love. Ms. Martha was born in Cuba and immigrated with her family to the US in 1972. She has lived in Hawthorne with her husband since 1983 and they have three grown children and are legal guardians for two nieces. In her spare time she likes to go hiking with the family.
Ms. Shanti was born in the Fiji islands and won the lottery for a work visa in this country; she has been here since March 2017. She has worked in early childhood education for 18 years and loves to watch how children at an early stage are learning new things at such a rapid pace. “As teachers, we help them adapt and grow into responsible, respectful, and intellectually curious human beings.” She wants to help all children develop in all key learning areas of abilities with their own unique personality.
Ms. Stephanie has been teaching preschoolers for 8 years. This is her first year at Fun Ship and she is excited to make this her best year ever! “I am thankful for the opportunity to work in a nurturing, loving environment where children can learn and experience new challenges that will help build their confidence.
"I look forward to continued success and new discoveries with the amazing team of teachers at Fun Ship.”
